At GAMA Healthcare, we’ve always prided ourselves on being at the forefront of healthcare innovation, not just through our products but also in how we address the broader challenges facing our planet. Our commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship has been a guiding principle, especially in our efforts to support the “Saving Lives” initiative launched in 2007. This initiative emphasises the importance of documentation and labelling of cleaned clinical equipment, a standard we’ve aimed to uphold with our Clinell Indicator Notes.

The shift to sustainability

Recognising the increasing demand for eco-friendly products and the environmental concerns associated with plastic use, we embarked on a journey to transform our Clinell Indicator Notes. The goal was clear: transition from plastic-based to paper-based notes without compromising their functionality and reliability. This was no small feat, given the challenges associated with paper products in healthcare settings, such as their tendency to curl and the need for them to adhere properly to various surfaces.

Through dedication and innovation, our team overcame these hurdles by developing a paper-based note using technology akin to grease-proof paper. This solution ensures that our new Clinell Indicator Notes are not only sustainable but also maintain their effectiveness in marking decontaminated items in healthcare environments.

Delivering value and savings

In line with our commitment to sustainability, we’re also conscious of the financial pressures faced by healthcare providers. We’re delighted to announce a 10% reduction in the cost of our Clinell Indicator Notes, testament to our dedication to providing value to the NHS while promoting sustainable practices.

A seamless transition

The new Paper-based Clinell Indicator Notes will soon make their debut in the UK. We’ve ensured a smooth transition from the existing plastic-based stock, allowing healthcare providers to seamlessly switch to the new, eco-friendly option under the same product code (VJT85001) with the instant 10% cost saving. This change is projected to save the NHS an impressive 6.2 tonnes of plastic annually, underscoring our joint commitment to reducing our environmental footprint.

Looking ahead

This initiative is more than just a product update; it’s a reflection of our ongoing commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the well-being of our planet. We are excited to lead the way in sustainable healthcare solutions and grateful for the continued support of our partners.

As we embark on this journey towards a more sustainable future, we invite you to join us in celebrating this significant milestone. Together, we can make a substantial impact on our environment, one step at a time.

Thank you for your support and partnership as we continue to innovate for a healthier, more sustainable world.
